Yasiin Bey & Preservation The REcstatic [Album]
From Preservation:
The project started as a slow build with a few songs and then it become a challenge to do them all. Because it was a sample-based album, I wanted to keep the remixes sample-based and for them to have the same pitch, key and tone as the originals. The original beats were non-traditional and the amount of singing made it very difficult to remix with this intention of the same energy. It’s the result of countless hours of digging through records to sample, constructing the beat, wrapping it around the vocal, adjusting the tempo, and so on. ‘Quiet Dog Bite Hard’ was exciting because I was remixing my own track and it drew me into the process, and ‘Workers Comp’ was the most unique due to its complex time signature.

Ayentee: Mos Common Thought [Mixtape]
Here is the first installment in a series of albums I’m calling 'Frankensteined.' The goal of this project is to take a bunch of verses from different artists and try to craft an album as if they were all in the studio working together. I really wanted to create a brand new listening experience and try to redefine the potential of the remix.
Volume One focuses in on Mos Def, Common and Black Thought, 3 legendary emcees from Brooklyn, Chicago, and Philadelphia respectively.
Ayentee is a San Francisco Bay Area emcee/producer of 12 years. As an artist that has always tried to think outside of the box, Ayentee has trailblazed the free music movement by making all of his past and future releases free to download starting in 2004. He also spent 11 weeks crafting 'Curiosity Saved The Mouse', an online evolving album that grew by 1 track each tuesday until its completion in late 2009. Mos Def: Umi Says (Zero 7 Remix) [Single]
Honestly, the only Zero 7 track that really threw us back was Destiny, however, they can create a mean remix. With that being said, they are the only group (in our opinion) to have remixed Umi Says and do it any more justice than the original. This is one single that you do not want to miss.
