LAKIM: Reinterpretations [EP]

From Potholes In My Blog:

Our bond with Virginia producer LAKIM was sealed during the summer of 2012 when he contributed '1997' to our Cosmic Island compilation. From there, we kept a close eye on his work, including his collaborations with rapper Jean P. as part of Opposites Attract and his growing catalogue of remixes. We quickly asked LAKIM if he was down to release some projects through our imprint, Potholes Music, and so began a new relationship with the gifted producer.

While we talked about what we could release with him, LAKIM casually dropped a flip of Erykah Badu’s 'On & On' that left us needing more. With the knowledge that he had other remixes under his belt, we all agreed that it was time to drop an EP showcasing his footwork/juke-oriented flips. And just like that, Reinterpretations was born. The six-track release compiles LAKIM’s shuffling, addictive takes on cuts like 'On & On', Justin Timberlake’s 'Like I Love You', and a deft blend of Jill Scott’s 'So Gone' and Bun B’s verse on 'Int’l Players Anthem (I Choose You)'.
