Lupe Fiasco on Fuse [Video]

After listening to LASERS, we did not necessarily hide our distaste. What made things worse was that Lupe would not admit his part in the sub-par project. Sure, the labels locked him down, but they did the same to Pac. In our opinion, there were avenues available that would have augmented the audio and appealed to at least the loyal side of his fanbase, if nothing else.

That aside, Food & Liquor 2 is shaping up to be his rhyme resurrection. Watching live performances such as the clip above remind us of adolescent Lupe - you know, the Kick, Push kid - and makes us all giddy over the gift of a grown-up, self-professed dirty ghetto kid spitting politically-charged prose in only the way he can.

Lupe Fiasco: Around My Way (Freedom Ain't Free) [Video]

Thank goodness, the real Lupe has stood up. This is what we expected from Lasers, and although it's later than expected, it's still better than never.

Bassnectar f. Lupe Fiasco: Vava Voom [Video]

Beats Antique perfomed a LIVE rendition of a Bassnectar track in Oakland at the Fox Theater at the end of March that was just SICK (if anyone knows the name please email us - we may have a special gift for you). Now the California dubsmith brings along none other than Lupe Fiasco (who is slowly working his way back onto our radar) for the distorted lead visual from the album of the same name.

Bill O'Reilly Interviews Lupe Fiasco [Video]

We cannot deny being absolute livid with Lupe a the present time, and not just for his Obama rant. However, we have to applaud him for having the cohones to engage in verbal fisticuffs with the face of Fox News. His comments regarding the lack of education required to understand politics (just look at how many politicians have no diploma, much less a degree) are noteworthy.

Lupe Fiasco x The Colbert Report (Video)

Lupe Fiasco visited The Colbert Report this week to talk Lasers, and also performed his recent single Words I Never Said with Skylar Grey (who reminds us more and more of a female Chester Bennington).

Lupe Fiasco f. Skylar Grey: Words I Never Said (Video)

After revisiting Lasers, I have to at least give credit where credit is due - Lu has not missed a beat lyrically. More important, you have to respect the fact that he blatantly describes the agony and angst of his label association on virtually every track in some way. However, placing this track above all others as the second visual accompaniment rivals the selection of Not Afraid as the lead track from Recovery. Word to Sparks and @AKadi for convincing me to go back and give the album another listen.
